Dan Freene ACS is a distinguished cinematographer renowned for his work spanning television series, feature films, documentaries, and commercials.

Recently, Dan Freene ACS collaborated with long term directing partner Ben C Lucas on a compelling new NETFLIX series, "The Survivors," a Tony Ayers Pictures, Matchbox Pictures, NBC Universal production adapted from Jane Harper's novel. “The Survivors” was shot mostly in the coastal areas of the Tasmanian wilderness and will go out on Netflix globally in early 2025.

In 2023 Dan was busy again with NETFLIX, shooting a block of the second season of the popular teen series “Surviving Summer 2,” and earlier that year Dan DOP’d the global hit NETFLIX comedy series, "Wellmania," featuring Australian comedian Celeste Barber.

Among his other recent television credits are "The Queen of Oz," starring Catherine Tate, Produced by Lingo Pictures, for the BBC /ABC. The hugely popular CANNES Short Form winning YOUTUBE comedy series, "OVER and OUT," by the Van Vuuren Brothers, Midwinter Films, and Jungle Entertainment. Season 2 of the popular ABC comedy series, "Squinters," by Trent O'Donnell and Adam Zwar. And Season 1 of "Soul Mates," the ABC hit comedy series, created by the Bondi Hipsters, produced by Jungle Entertainment.

In 2015, Dan shot the acclaimed NETFLIX sci-fi feature film "OtherLife," which earned the prestigious Gold ACS award, directed by Ben C Lucas. His other dramatic feature in 2011, "Wasted on The Young," also directed by Ben C Lucas was met with critical acclaim, and ran in competition at Toronto, SXSW, Busan, Sydney Film Festivals.

Recognized for his adaptability, narrative finesse, mastery of light, and knack for enhancing the on-screen presence of lead actors, Dan Freene ACS is esteemed as a cinematographer capable of delivering exceptional results across diverse and demanding scenarios.
